About Bennie Woods

Living near the mountains in Colorado all of my life, I have found that I really enjoy landscapes, the western things and the horses that are so exciting that I just have to draw and paint them!  There is something beautiful about horses although I have never owned a horse.

Art is something that I have always enjoyed.  As a small child, I began to be interested in art.  I specialized in art in high school and won awards.  I pursued my art in college and attended several workshops.

Statement:

Bennie Woods as a native of Colorado and "Cowboy Country", captures the west in her art.  She is passionate about portraying the Wild West, whether it's the people, critters, or the beautiful landscape she has lived in all of her life, they all carry an importance in the art she creates.  It's the moment in time" that she tries to capture in her art.  Those fleeting moments are a record of the west recreated in her art.  ~ JG
